— There is a guy who hosts a fantasy baseball podcast on YouTube who was saying Monday night that he was in 17 fantasy baseball leagues this season. 17!!!!
I’m in one fantasy league and I probably spend too much time on it, but it is fun. Can’t even imagine keeping track of 17 different leagues every day for six months.

Our first look this season at some college basketball knowledge…….
— Last November, USC beat Arizona State in the final of the Maui Classic; neither team made the NCAA Tournament last season, making it the first time this century that neither team in the Maui final made the NCAA’s.
Since 2000, eight Maui champs made the Final Four that year; only two teams who lost the Maui final made the Final Four that year (Kentucky 2010/Kansas 2011).
— Last four years, UConn is 18-2 in NCAA tournamkents, making the title game three times, winning two of those. Huskies are less experienced this year, but they usually figure things out.
— Michael Malone is the new coach at North Carolina; he won an NBA title coaching the Denver Nuggets four years ago. Very unusual for the Tar Heels to go outside their alumni for a coach.
— Last two years, Rick Pitino’s St John’s team is 61-12, 36-4 in Big East games, but only 2-3 in NCAA Tournament games. Red Storm was a #2/#5 seed those two seasons.
— In four years coaching Duke, Jon Scheyer is 124-25, 65-13 in ACC games, 11-4 in NCAA Tourney games, but only 1-2 in Elite 8 games. Duke hasn’t won the NCAA Tournament since 2015; they were the #312 experience team last year.
— Villanova/Kevin Willard added five transfers this year, all of who averaged 13+ points/game this past season.
— Boston College hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2009; their new coach is former UConn assistant Luke Murray, son of the great comedian/actor Bill Murray.
