Tampa Bay scored four runs in the 8th inning.
Gerrit Cole threw six scoreless IP in his return from the IL.
Tampa Bay leads the AL East by 5.5 games.

— Marlins 2, Mets 1
Eury Perez gave up two hits in a strong 6.1 IP.
Owen Caissie knocked in both of the Marlins’ runs.
Juan Soto was 2-for-3 with a HR; rest of the Mets were 1-for-25.

— Brewers 5, Dodgers 1
William Contreras hit a three-run homer in the first inning.
Six of the first seven Milwaukee batters in the game got hits.
Logan Henderson threw five shutout IP for the first-place Brewers.

Arizona led 2-1 after seven innings.
TJ Rumfield tied the game with an 8th inning double.
Chad Stevens won the game with a 9th inning single.
Colorado improves to 10-17 on the road.

Movie of the Day: A Few Good Men (1992)- A military lawyer intends to prove that two US Marines charged with murdering a fellow Marine were only following their base commander’s orders.

Tom Cruise is the lawyer, Kevin Pollak/Demi Moore are lawyers helping him on the case. Kevin Bacon is the opposing lawyer; Kiefer Sutherland, JT Walsh, Noah Wyle, Joshua Molina are also in this epic cast, but the biggest star is Jack Nicholson, who plays Colonel Jessup- his testimony on the witness stand is one of the best scenes in movie history. 

Aaron Sorkin wrote the film, Rob Reiner directed it. An excellent movie.

Chicago scored all nine of its runs in the 4th inning.
Davis Martin got the win; he is 7-1, 2.04 this year.
Last three years, White Sox lost 324 games; they’re 26-24 this year.
